Paddles 13 years 7 months ago #31687

Hi, I am about to get myself my first set of paddles and would like some advice.

I have looked on this paddles section of the site and there are so many I have no idea which ones to go for.

I'd like cranks that are suitable for both river running and playboating.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Have a look at the werner sidekick. Werner are (arguably) the best paddle make out there, and if you are looking for a playboating/ river running paddle, the sidekick is the way forward. Awesome paddle to use, looks awesome and is great to use. Playboat paddles tend to be shorter than river paddles so you have more control over your stunts. Anything over 190cm will be fine, but stay away from Ainsworth paddles! They are cheap but break easy :/ Hope this helps :)

Hi there, before you make a decision kindly check out my paddles at Mitchell Blades (UK). Obviously I'm going to say they are the best in the world, but many paddlers put them on par, or rate them better than Werner. You can read their referrals on UK Rivers Guide Book. Furthermore, most of my sponsors are winning medals. We custom make paddles, and I can offer you an extensive amount of help in choosing your first paddle.

Kind regards,
Lance Mitchell
