Wet Suit 13 years 3 months ago #32116

Hi!

I am new with whitewater kayaking. I am looking at buying a wet suit. I would like to know what would be best for me to purchase, a long sleeve one or a short one. Would a 3mm one be fine for kayaking in May in the Ottawa region?

Thank you!

Claude

Hi Claude,

I'm not sure about your location, but I'm sure someone will answer soon  But I was just wondering if you haven't thought of getting a dry top? Perhaps wear a 'farmer john' wetsuit for the lower body and chest (sleeveless) and a dry top, as it's a lot more comfortable. Or just some wetsuit pants with the dry top. Or a dry top and pants, or even a dry suit - budget depending.

Wetsuits are not that comfortable, and irritating when you need to take a leak  :frustrated:

Cheers,
Adrian
