Small World Adventures has teamed up with the Ecuadorian Rivers Institute (ERI) to take a stand and do something to protect Ecuador’s wonderful rivers and the incredible rainforests they flow through. For all the whitewater enthusiasts who come to Ecuador, the country is, sadly, lacking a strong community fighting for the very waters we love to paddle on.

Ecuador’s rivers are facing a number of threats right now from mining, oil, and dams (and all the roads and other development associated with these activities). The ERI is the only conservation group in Ecuador working exclusively on protecting Ecuador’s rivers, and we need your help to support the ERI! Not only is the ERI fighting illegal mining practices and illegal road building, but they are also working to get river corridors protected and to get the government to recognize the value in protecting some of its natural treasures rather than exploiting any and all resources in a destructive manner.

So, in an effort to raise much-needed money for the ERI, Small World Adventures is tying ERI donations to lottery entries for our annual summer gear giveaway! Anyone can still get 1 entry for “free” here: www.smallworldadventures.com/winatrip.html

But if you want to help the ERI, you’ll also be helping your odds of winning. This year, for every $5 you donate to the ERI, you’ll get 1 extra entry into the summer gear giveaway lottery. So a $50 donation will get you 10 extra entries.
