I'm planning to buy a new creeker this winter but I live in South Africa and there are no demos available in the country, so I've got to buy without sitting in one myself.
I'm having a hard time figuring out whether I will fit in the Stomper 80 (80 gallons)- anyone know whether a 5'5" 150lb guy will fit well? Or the Mamba 7.6 creeker (66 gallons)
I'll use the boat mainly for creeking class IV and occasional V, some of which include multiday/overnight trips so the stern access and seat comfort is a big thing for me.
Currently I have a Fluid Solo M (71 gallon) that fits well and also a 2010 Dagger Mamba 7.5 (this mamba is my US paddling boat, i'm buying another creeker for south africa..). The mamba has been my favorite boat and I know I'm "messing with success" to think about changing to the Stomper, but it sounds like an amazing boat and I'm severely tempted.
I'm moving away from the Solo because it is TOO forgiving and the round hull makes my paddling very dull/disconnected and I spend more time muscling the boat where I want it than I do in the Mamba where I can use the lines on the hull to carve through the water and place the boat where I want it.
