I am brand new to the forum and wish to get some advice on which kayak/s would be best for myself and my wife. We are tired of renting.

We are both in our late 40's and very healthy and active. I would rather get advice from the real people on this form than from salespeople that may only be interested in selling what they carry (hope that does not sound too cynical).

We will probably never do anything rougher than class III (I think I have the terminology correct?) and will spend most of our time on rivers and lakes in warm weather. Occassionally, I like to fish from a kayak. We want the kayaks to be as light as is possible as they would need to be loaded on the back of a motorhome.

What factors should we consider?

Is there more information that is needed? Is there a web based tool that helps shoppers like me select the right kayak so that I do not have to bother all of you?

Thanks,
RJG
