What playboat should I take? 19 years 2 weeks ago #5489

Hello, i'm looking for a playboat and i'm a little confused.
I used to compete slalom in the national team, but i'm a really newbie talking about freestyle, so i'll need some help...
It's pretty difficult to get a foreign boat here, i have found just these options here:

Prijon Deliruss(New) ............................................R$1700,00
Jackson 4Fun(used)............................................R$2400,00
Riot Air 55 (new) .................................................R$2700,00 :D
Dagger Kingpin 6.2 (used, but it's pretty new).........R$1800,00 :D

I would be glad to ty all them, but i really can't...
I'm really interested in the dagger kingpin and the air, what do u think about it??The best money option for me is the dagger...
how is it to flatwater tricks, cartwheels, loops, footrest, seatetc??
so i just can take a notion by some videos and comments...
Tell me your opinions, anything will help

Ah, does anyone if the kingpin is really similar to the g:force??cause i've already seem a lot about the g:force and i liked it so much!!

please help me as u can

Thanks ;-)

kingpin seems like the best option to me

i paddle a G-force, which is quite an old boat now, but it was a groundbreaking design so dagger are still producing them

kingpins are similar and, as they are a newer boat, will probably have better outfitting etc

Kingpin! (Altough I never paddled the Riot)
I've a Kingpin 6.3 and like it a lot; its comfy and easy to do (flatwater)tricks and it always put a smile onn my face :)

Your only real options are the Air and the Kingpin if it is out and out play tou want asn the 4Fun is more of a river playboat and the delirios is just a bit poo. Both of these boats are very nice playboats but do handle quite differently. If at all possable I would try to demo these two to see which suits your style of paddling best. The other thing to remember is Riot boats require smaller sparydecks which generally means buying a new spraydeck to go with the boat.

hope this was of some help,
Denzil

Ok, thanks to everyone...

I´ll try to demo them, then i´ll post what i think

but it´s almost certain that i´m going to get the kingpin, cause it's also the best money option...

ive never been in the kingpin but fro my genreal feel of things is tha the air is a bit more high performance in terms of carving and such. i own an air 45 and its really easy to throw down. Right know it seems to me like the air can do everything the kingpin can do except a little better, but i really dont know.
The jackson fun series is and awesome line of boats and they actually play pretty well, but for all out play id stay away from it.

When you compare the Riot an the Dagger on the databare of Playak, you see there is no differense in ratingpoints of both boats. The Riot is the newest of the two, but looking at the prices you are offered, the Kingpin seems to be the best value for money in my point of view.

I mostly paddle Riot boats playboating but only if they are fitted with a power seat as all their other seating systems don't seem to hold me in the boat well enough. I aslo found the air great on the wave but not quite as easy in the hole (not as easy as a boat with the same volume in both ends). Infact riot seem to have relised this and have put a different stern on it and called it a new boat, the flair.

My friend has a kingpin and was very happy with it saying it was the first playboat he had owed for a long time where his feet didn't hurt the whole time!

If I was you I'd go for the kingpin as well as the price is so much better.

Yours,

Neil
