Has anyone been lately?
Can you tell me what river levels one might expect may 5th weekend?
What is ideal?
How good it it for 'novice' playboaters? (can roll up, but not always:))
How crowded does it get?
Can one run the rest of the river, and what grades would that be?
Also - any shop recommendations to rent a boat? airlines will probably jack me, so I'd probably rent...

would love to hear, as planning to fly to reno, and would LOVE to try the park.

Thanks!

My guess would be around 2000 cfs at that time frame give or take. You can watch/check on www.dreamflows.com/

Can be done as low as the 4oo cfs range and as high as the 3500-4000 cfs range

There are pools after each feature so if you can self rescue I guess...actually thats yer call :-)
Never really too crowded

The Truckee river is mainly class 3 with a class 4 or two at higher flows and an occasional damn that can be easily portaged

I think Reno Mtn Sports rents Jackson Kayaks

hey there - so, didn't make the trip in the Spring, but looking at Fall...
We've a Canadian Long weekend Nov 11th...

I can't seem to find 'historic' data on Dream flows... any idea what kind of levels the Truckee might be at by then?

Thanks!

Personally would not recomend it, I live 5 mins away and dont go at these flows. (500 cfs). It will be pretty cold here in Nov and it could come up if we got a ton of rain but most likey will stay around the current range until late winter/early spring. . Are you coming for a particular reason besides kayaking? If so you could check out chili bar in coloma about 2 hours away in Cali. If you need more details PM or email me and I can help out.
