So after a good session i decided to go deep for a loop to get some real pop, this ended in a hole in the front of my boat........ ended a good session with an array of words Fu%! being the most used.
The type of plastic they use isnt normal plastic it is cross linked plastic, does anyone know if this can be wealded or of any filler compound which will stick to that type of plastic?

The hole is about 150mm in diameter and goes all the way through, it was made by a screw at HPP Nottingham so be warned that there are things in there which puncture your boat!!

Jackson Kayaks is the place to start and ask them what their take of the situation is. Contact a company like....[/color:d71f2d8f52]

I'm not saying that this company will be able to help you but it's worth a shot... There are many places that will do plastic welding. Just make sure they know what you want and they know what they are doing. Good luck. ;-) [/color:d71f2d8f52]

I personally think it was a large screw or something metallic which was hit with all my weight and force of the water and put a hole about 100mm in diameter, i took somephotos this morning and sent them to squarerock who import jackson kayaks.
To be honest it held up better than i thought unlike my back which was hurt due to being stopped suddenly  .
keep you guys posted.

The recent issue of Sea Kayaker had a how too on KC Welder for fixing holes and gashes in plastic boats. Also there are suppose to be professional plastic welders out there. The article was a simple DIY and reasonable.

yes i fixed it, a combination of welding and no more nails.... it sticks to anything!! thats what i was advised to use by jackson kayaks.... it did the job although welding it took a bit of time to do beacuse it didnt want to take to itself very easily.

i don't think you can expect companies to give you a new boat when it hit something it isn't build for...like metal...

I would have to agree there. If we all started doing that we would be paying WAY more for a boat.

Which spot at HPP did you do this on, you must have gone seriouslly deep to hit the bottom, the muncher is the only bit i have hit the bottom in but theres no nails under there, and having seen it empty a few times, before they switch the water back on they make sure all the new features have the bolt ground down or fitted with caps

seems odd
