Werner Sidekicks VS Players 18 years 10 months ago #7303

Hey, does anyone use either the werner side kicks or players? I am wondering if the Sidekikcs are any good for river running and learning to play because I have heard they can be very unforgiving particularly in unexperienced hands. Are the players better to start with?
Any feedback appriciated :)
Cheers guys

The side kick has a bigger blade area than the player. Personally i have used the players since they came out around 5-6 years ago and love them!
I used to own a sidekick and swapped to them

I have the orignal paddle around 194 45r which is still going strong and still use on creeks etc class 4/5 and a 191 zero for everything else and love them!

You do not need a big blade as they can put more stress on your joints and body also they can be harder to use in a powerful hole as they catch more water and can be pulled out of your hands more easily

what are you paddling with now? also consider the twist even smaller really nice to use my girlfriend has used hers on 3/4 one five and shes loves them

I had a go with some at the weekend as well as players, at-2's, chilis and double diamonds, the d-diamonds r kinda outta the question as r the at-2's due to cost.
On the flat the sidekicks were better but I may get on better with player in the long run e.g. on white water?
cheers
