Liquid Logic opinions 18 years 9 months ago #8104

My shop is looking at picking up a new line of boats and I am wonder about peoples encounters with liquid logic boats and staff. I am interested especially in problems (if there are any). Please don't bad mouth just be realistic including how you may have contributed to the bad time. Any boat reivews or opinions would be great.

Thanx

I've been pretty happy with both my Liquid Logic boats so far. Good boat design, boater owned company and great customer service. Unfortunatley my Vision just cracked, and I'm waiting for customer support on it, but have my hopes set pretty high from how I have heard they treat people. If I personally owned a shop they would be a company I would pick up.

Great people; was able to get a phonecall from staff to discuss boats and gear within minutes of requesting on their forums. Paddled a Hoss and loved it. Amazing boats; very diverse as far as selection goes; and again; very fun staff; experienced and friendly.

Cant say enough good things about LL.

My friend has had his since january and paddle it at least 4 times ( prob. more ) a week. and ever time he goes hard in it and where we paddle it is really shallow water with sharp rock! Lets put it this way he bought a set of dd paddle new in november now they look like they have been though hell and back and now they have a chunk missing from it. he has also riped a IR super bugnee with in 8 mouths of getting it!

How do you find the outfitting for comfort. I took out a scooter one day for flatwater fun and I fougd that the back band started to hurt by back because of the profile of the round bumps on it. Sitting in it on land it felt very comfortable it was after time that I started to dislike it. Has anyone else had this problem.

that is the only draw back for me as well the backband is really stiff which means you can;t crank it extremly tight cause it will hender blood flow to your lower body. Some ppl love it some hate, and some just deal with the pain to paddle a really good boat!

the outfitting works well and the back band is great as it supports you well the problem most people have with the ratchets thingys is overtightening them making it harder to escape from their boats in a hurry! And the new hip pads are awsome!

I never really had a problem with the backband, but if it's uncomfortable then cut up a camping rollmat and wrap it round
I've never had to do it but it worked for a mate of mine.
The only problem I've ever had with my big wheel is the footrest. I just cannot get comfortable with it, so look like I'll have to go down the foam bulkhead route. Everyone else loves it though...

Oooh the space cadet! I lurve the space cadet. First time I went in one I was stern stalling in literally seconds and I was a noob to playboating at the time. Never tried any other Liquid Logics but I had my 1 1/2 hours of flat water fun in a space cadet.

Very good, no issues with quality of kayak, outfitting or customer service.

Just to get some oposing view points here. I think liquidlogic boats are pretty crappy except for the plastic. The outfitting is pretty lame. The seat shape makes it a little tough to customize with foam. The hiphugger outfitting is too stiff to get a really tight fit. The vision is pretty crappy from what I've tried (just my opinion). None of their playboats seem that great and I've heard the ronin is pretty crap too. Also their LL trigger should not be in production. It's a pretty bad boat for anyone but a begginer who can roll. In addition the boats backband is not verygood and is too stiff. My major beef with the backband is an unusual one. The backband does not hold on my helmet when i am trying to portage the boat vertically. This may not be a big deal to most of your customers but on my head is defenitly the easiest way to carry a boat for those 3 mile put-in's or take-outs. Just my take on the boats, but their plastic is bomber.

Also here in Europe: Very good customer service, no problems at all with their boots. Really tougth plastic and fine shapes, both on creekers and playboats.
I like the way they build kayaks and treat people :-)

Welshcake,

Depends on what you want, the Hoss/Little Joe series are more focused on river running, playboating coming in second while the CR is focused on play before river running. So if you want more play focus go with the CR, and Hoss/LJ for river running with occasional surfing.
