Today (1st of november) was such a lovely day. A day we only have once or twice a year in the Netherlands. It’s a day when most of the people like to stay at home. A day that lets you know that summer’s finished and winter is about to begin: it’s dark, cold, rainy, but most of all ‘windy’!

The wind swells up the ocean that takes an extraordinary character. The horizon fills up with massive bombs of water and the ships stay safe where they are in the harbour.

Only a few crazy Dutch paddlers go out to have a look if it’s worth giving it a try. And I can assure you, it is!
Yesterday night we had a western storm coming in with over 20 knots. Today Tim Uneken, Roy Hopmans, Niels Stuurman and myself gave it a try in Scheveningen (beach of The Hague).

The good thing here is that the piers from the harbour make it easy to paddle out. Allthough not everybody made it through it was a wicked day!
Who ever said that aerial moves are impossible in the Flatland?
