Why do the guys write that word with a 'c'? I keep reading epico-city, as if it might be a city in Epico State or so. i know it's a fantasy word, but i think an 's' would have made more sense. i mean, try reading a word like curiocity...

not that it's of any importance of course... - i'm just wondering :)

If you liked Epicocity and haven't seen their previous release Bigger than Rodeo I would highly recommend it. I thought it was better than Epicocity, especially if you are into playboating.

its spelled with a c because( i think) its a play on worlds like vlelocity, or synchronicity, or ferocity. I dont know if english is your first language( it seems excelent) but english can be a kinda screwy language and thats jsut he way the ending to words like that are spelled. Also, i live in the same town as a lot of these guys and i know i have never heard of the place your talking about, so maybe it just a regional thing.

Re:DVD Review: Mission: epicocity 18 years 5 months ago #10973

my original intent on posting here was to talk about the review of Mission Epicocity, so i guess ill do that now.

Usually i like the reviews listed on playak, usually agreeing with the reviewer on the product( if ive seen or tested it), but the review of this purticalr video, seemd weird. The reviewer emphasized that this movie is not educational and is just a series of big drops and wave moves. Now, i in no way meen to criticise the reviewer and this is just my :2cents:, but it seemd as the reviewer wasnt really acquainted with the different movie types. To me, its given that this vid is about watching good kayakers do there thing, not learning how to be like them.
The reviewer seemd to just lump it into the non-educational, kayakers-going- -huge type of thing, without differetniating it that much. To me there are movies like new reign and dynasty, where you just see huge hucks and ridiculous wave moves without much of story line or kayaker interviewing( kayak porn). Then there is your Twitch V, Creatures of Habit and LVM type of video where, you get less coverage of every place they went, but you get a more in-depth look at the kayakers, lead in rapids, and the journey it took to get there. The thing that i really liked about Mission: Epicocity was that it seemd to blemnd these to categories well, showing lots of good air, but also getting in some good interviews and travel logue type of thing. this seem liked on of the movies better aspectsm, and the reviewer seemd to miss this a bit. Again, i am just stating my opinion and dont want to insult the person who interviewd this is any way; it was well written and put together, it just seemd like it was to broad in its descritpion. Kayak movie reviews in the past seemed to be more specific, so i just thought id give a lttle feedback as to what i didnt like about thison. Again, this is jsut my opinion, there could be tons of people that enjoyed this review a lot, im just giving my two cents.

Ps, id like to appologize for my attrocious spelling and gramar her. went on a bit of a rant and my tping skills kinda went out the window.-
