There just ain’t no ride like a G-Ride. This is the high performance kayak for the medium to large sized paddler. From performance river running to wave play to big water, this one’s a phenomenal performer on any type of surface. It’s got an extremely short length for lighter overall weight, quick maneuverability and solid boat control. And a no-compromise planing hull that surfs, spins and bounces like a freestyle boat. An even volume distribution offers a full day of comfort and predictability in tricky rapids. Don’t forget about Performance Fit System™ featuring Precision adjustable seat and thigh braces with a Camlok™ backband and AirCore™ hip pads.

If you're happy, you're successful.

Does anyone know the maximum height you could be to get into this boat comfortably?

Hey
Have used G Ride 6.5 many times. I'm 6'2 178 size 10 shoe 32 inseam. You can fit some pretty big people in the 6.5 ! People get the wrong idea about this boat's fit because they sometimes fail to remove the foot brace assembly if it doesn't work for them.Taking it out and foam blocking to fit provides a VERY comfortable ride for even some of the biggest paddlers.
The Dagger G Ride 6.5 is actually somewhat of a cult classic. It's still produced in the European Dagger line. It's a very stable river runner even on some huge runs, it surfs well, and it's been used by many as a light creeker in fact. A very fine all around boat. It is not designed as an advnced move playboat, But it does basic play well. You'd enjoy it!

Great, thanks for the advice, I am at the low end of the weight range for the boat, but I am 14 so I want to be able to grow into it.

I had one for a long time and loved it. I wish I still owned it. It's a great river runner. I decided to get into playboating and sold it for a Jackson Super Star. Also a great boat.

if thats the case and you are only 14 how tall are you now?

I would probably advice towards something a bit longer as you would have more room to grow if you need it, BUT the boat will not perform as well if it is massive on you. It could be worth looking at the Juice range from Dagger also or the EZ/ EZG family alll are nicer to paddle.

If you are getting above 6ft mark and you move the seat right back this will put the centre of gravity out of place and you willl loose performance.

Also the 6.5 is huge why not look at the smaller version which is still massive or come to that the gforce which is cheaper and nicer to paddle

I am 6 foot 9 at the moment. I will also try the Juice when I go and look at boats. I looked at the EZG, it looks good but it's out of my price range. I have looked around for the EZ, it's hard to find because they are out of production.

I know what you mean about moving the seat back, I didnt move the seat on the bliss stick ive just grown out of for that reason.

I've tried the G-Force a bit, but it's to playboaty for me, I want something that can run rivers more easily as well, I'd get two boats but I just can't afford it.

I am also looking to try the Pyranha Stretch and ReCoil, are these good choices too?

Thanks for the advice

If you are that tall i would probably go towards the slightly bigger boats such as the stretch, gt range I think your best bet is to sit in them to find out if you fit and what feels comfortable make a short list and test them out! Iwould probably rule out the short boats and decide on what you do most! You could be better off getting a river runner then look into a playboat in the future once youve stopped growing.

Does anyone know the space (height) in a LL CR 125? I can find one for a good price, plus is it a good boat.

Re:Dagger G-Ride 6.5 18 years 2 months ago #13033

well, most manufacturers can only give recomendations by inseam. If you contact the manufacturer or post on boatertalk where a lot of designers hang out they can probaly guess on whether or not you will fit. I'm sure that you can guess than whatever boat you fit in, it probaly won't be too comfortable. Good luck finding a boat that works for you. What is your weight. I would guess that the ll CR125 would be far too small for you.

I don't think it would be too small, they recommend about 60 to 100kg and im about 55.

Re:Dagger G-Ride 6.5 17 years 5 months ago #19158

Would this boat do OK as a flatwater playboat? I need something that can I can throw around in the offseason (I'm in FL) in my pool and then take up to NC during the summer to run rivers.

I have a choice between this and a Perception UltraClean.

Opinions?
