Anyone know very much about the ww parks in reno? I heard there was going to be another one put in for different water levels, and my family was looking at a trip to see some friends in mesquite next jan. I was wondering if there is really any good play on it, and if there is going to be two, which one will be good at that time of year and if there is anywhere to get a boat nearby. I know a guy in reno, and I could probably bum a boat off him for a few days, but I haven't seen him in a while and would prefer to rent one.

Alex

Sorry man I only weigh a buck 50. All my gear is size small, plus I probably wont be in town.

Batyak

They havent broke ground as of yet in sparks. There may be more info on the citys webpage. There is also a webcam on one of the park features. AS far as flows, It could rain a ton in Jan and the park could be sweet. It could also be butt ass cold and super low. As mentioned in the prior threads listed below watch dreamflows....

Just got back from Reno...
Water too low for much fun on the Truckee... little snow = short season :(
Did some scout about, good looking runs with water I'd think...

Regarding airlines, we took our paddles, discreetly packed in my salomon ski bag. (skis are checked as one of your checked items, no charge, at least by Alaska Air) - TSA apparently opened (left us a note in the bag) and inspected (maybe skis in June was suspicious to them - one never knows where US foreign policy will get one...) But other than that, no issue at all

:blah:
