Why name it the Habitat? Here are a few definitions...

I like the Habitat 80 on steep creeks, but I worry that the bulbous bow may not punch holes well.

Has anyone paddled the Habitat in big water? How did it do?
I have a Grand Canyon trip coming up and I am trying to decide if it is an appropriate boat for a large paddler for that trip.

It look as if it will punch through no worries, i've paddled a jackson punk rocker and it has a massive nose but it still punched trough everything.. even sideways!!!!

probably an ok hole puncher. don't think that anyone really makes a boat with a super huge blunt nose anymore, except maybe the Scud. It's smart of you to consider that though. It's something that was carefully considered in some of the bigger boats like the Critical Mass from DragoRossi. www.100waves.com/specs/criticalmass.html

There are lots of good boats out there now. should be fine in this one for a Canyon trip.

dude, no boat punches stuff sideways. If it does, it's called a wave. The habitat 80 should be fine at punching hole. Plus there are hardly any holes on the grand canyon. It's basicallly all waves. You would do better in an old school boat like a pirouette or frankenstein on the Grand

comfort is a pretty big factor on the Grand too. Lots and lots of flatwater.
