What do people think of the new allstar? Is it worth purchasing. I got a P52 now. Is the new allstar a reasonable switch?

No the project 52 is better just try the jackson before you will buy it.

I am super happy with my P62!
That being said I do love JK and what EJ has done for paddling... So it is a tos up, I know of many, many ppl who are happy with the star series of boats... Doubt that this post helped much did it  |

I havent paddled either boat very much but have spent roughly the same short amount of time in each. I personally like the new All-Star more. I think the new All-Star is way way looser then the older model on a wave and a hell of alot faster quite similar to the P52. It has better edges then the old boat in my opinion as well probably not quite as sharp as the P52 but close. It has a little more volume then the P52 but I think it's shorter. I personally liked the 07' All-Star more and have a new one waiting for me in Montana. If it was the 06' It would be a different story but they have really worked out the kinks with the new one. I also think the 07' All-Star is a better river runner. I dont know if that helped. But really you should demo it because they are quite similar.

I think the stats for the 2007 Allstar are a little off, here's what i got from the JK site:

I actually like the all star a lot better than the project
in a hole- better volume distribution on the ends for cartwheels loops bigger on a wave- this part is more preference than anything else on a wave the project is super loose, and for me this means i cant really engage and edge get a carve at all and set up for moves that way; i would just slide around on the wave. The star is super loose to, but it has a much harder edge so its easier to set up for moves with edge transition and stuff |

I think it is a great boat. haven't tried P52 but the star is awesome on a wave and hole. but i guess it is preferece... try a star!!

I have a new All star and I love it.
I'ts much faster than the old all star,the one I had befor. I go a lot at sea (beach brake) wiht it and it's so fast you can run faster than the waves  Also it bonce better and higher than the first all star. |
