I have a 2005 Speedo and I bought it for the same reason – I like slalom and it’s one of the best plastic alternatives to a composite boat, however, still it’s not a composite boat and all else equal composites are noticeably faster. I run gates to develop ww skills and mainly compete against myself.
I think the boat was designed to be an aggressive river runner with good balance between speed and maneuverability. The boat is a little faster than most creek boats on the market but not quite as fast as the old long boats e.g. Dagger Crossfire et al. The length and flat hull make it an extraordinary maneuverable boat for it's length.
Another way to describe the boat is take an RPM, make the ends slicier with less volume, flatten the hull with hard edges, remove the pillars and replace the shell with superior plastic and you come pretty close to an Eskimo Speedo 2005.
I’m 5’10” and 87 kg and I think your body type would be even better for this boat.
If you read the topic “Eskimo Salto 2005” on the same forum it will provide a good link to a review on boat construction. This same construction applies to the 2005 Speedo.
Check out the link,

And yes, this boat can paddle class II, III and IV and greater. It was designed for the hard stuff, however, it’s probably not as safe as a creeker on the steep stuff.
