For years, creek-running enthusiasts havestruggled with kayaks that failed to resurface quickly after big drops, provided precious little shock absorption and weren't quite agile enough to perform the increasingly technical maneuversexpected of them. That struggle ends today with the introduction of the new Crux from Necky Kayaks, a shorter whitewater kayak designed specifically for the extreme demands of creek running.

If you're happy, you're successful.

Hi, I would like to know if the Necky Crux would be OK for a paddler weighing 130-140 lbs?

I think that is a good size for that boat. Creekboat and boat sizes for that matter are very subjective. I like bigger boats myself. You will ride really high in the boat. You may want to put 1" of foam on your seat if you are shorter too. If you plan on running high volume though I don't think that boat at your size is a good choice.

For what it's worth, I heard that the Blunt was better than the Crux. The Crux is bloody heavy with the shock absorbing system they've put in. While the Blunt was good it lacked a few things like rocker and stern volume. The Blunt is lighter and if memory serves me correctly, also longer, ie. faster. (the Crux was the Blunt's replacement but not half as good. I started paddling in a Blunt)

Considered a small or medium Fluid Solo? ;)
