You said any help.... So this is what I reckon a second hand boat would be worth new. (if it was brand new I still wouldn't pay very much) In South Africa, a boat of that age, but in a reasonably good condition, would go for around R2000, maybe R2500 at most. Or even R1500 if it had seen a lot of action. So given a horrible exchange rate with the USA of 7.89, that makes it:

R1500 = 190 US Dollars
R2000 = 250 US Dollars
R2500 = 320 US Dollars

With a bit of rounding off. B) I hope that gives you some ball park figures. :) Of course second hand values may differ in the US. :silly:

back when those boats were new, they cost something like 1600 swiss francs new here.

back then, that translated to appr USD 950, but thanks to mr greenspan it currently translates to appr 1600 USD :)

just wondering: did european boats really get a lot more expensive in the US?

Thank you sir!!! Appreciate it. Actually I am devoid of knowledge of euro boat prices at this time.....but I would think you are on the right track with the dollar diving with no life vest!!!!:-)
