Deeper hull and larger cockpit accommodate largerr paddlers wanting a nimble kayak for tight, twisty waters.

Is it feasible and practical to consider adding a skeg to the Wilderness System Tsunami 125? I love the craft and it tracks well, however, I do find that in moderate to rough conditions it is more difficult to maintain the desired direction. I am a bilateral hip replacement paddler in relatively good condition. I want to kayak for a long time, don't mind the work, but not over joyed to have to limit my paddling to simply near perfect conditions.B)

I suspect iamrr1 is having difficulty with the rudder because of his metal and nylons hips. I suspect retrofitting a skeg to a polyethylene kayak impossible. If you want a short, stable, well behaved and well tracking boat with a skeg then try a P & H Esky which can be got with rudder or skeg. I rented one with a skeg for a couple of days and was most impressed. ( I usually paddle a Wilderness Systems Tempest)

I am glad to hear there is still paddling when my hips wear out.

Thank you for sharing Philip. You are correct, rivers and bays (Chesapeake, and lower Potomac DC/MD/VA - USA). Did the white water thing as an adventure w/a group, nothing like you photo, but nonetheless enjoyed the experience, as did the wife after she survived it. I understand about the strokes/speed and indeed have recognized that it is different when I am really speeding. She tracks beautifully. I was thinking more about those times when I am just cruising with her, that is when I struggle. We have the DVD and I will revisit it and the strokes. Also will investigate the skeg pricing and decide after a little more experience.

Take care of the twin (Gemini). I am one 5/28.
