I'd like to invite all registered users to play around with this new feature a bit:

playak.com/index.php?option=com_maps

It's not even in beta-phase yet, but it's mostly working I think. If you are registered, you'll be taken immediately to where you live - well that is: where my server thinks you live...

You will recognize your own marker on the map, because it's bigger than the others. Just drag and drop your own marker to your correct location and that info will be updated in your profile as well.

Lots of work left to do, like allowing to add Playak spots immediately from the map etc, but we have to start somewhere...

Any feedback and further ideas would be welcome, as always.

Ok, I've added my position in. Pretty cool.

Are you going to add a button into a person's profile so that once you click that, you'll be taken directly to the map and to where that person is located?

that's a good idea. maybe i can even add a small map directly in the profiles, like a new tab with a map inside...

You can actually make out the details of the location.
I've pinpointed mine almost exactly.

i added links to the maps now in the user profiles. i actually made a mini map that would show directly within the profiles - really cool of course, but guess what: it doesn't work in bloody microsoft internet explorer....

i already spent a whole day to make sure that the big maps work in IE, and i'm fed up with that, so for now, we'll just have links to the big map in our profiles...

that said, please switch to firefox or opera or seamonkey, well anything bit internet explorer.... :)

Seriously Jeroen, f-ing fantastic, really good job! I even got in on my road, crazy :)
Perhaps in time you could add registered kayak shops/ dealers onto the map? I mean it's so detailed you could, would be a help to perspective buyers.

Yeah, the shops are one idea, adn I have many more ideas lined up :)

One thing at a time. I hope I'll be able to show you the next development stage next week...

In the meantime, enjoy what we have now, and please keep adding Google coordinates to existing spots, to get them all on the map.
