Well after an agonizing wait I picked up my Pyranha H3 this morning, got it home and had a fiddle getting it set up for me (just an excuse to sit in it and pretend that I was on Grade IV/V) but then I thought I'd let my insurance company know that there was a new addition to the policy only for them to tell me that they dont cover any type of water craft or that they wont cover me for liabilty if I was the cause of an accident if I was in said watercraft....(Prudential by the way), anyway they recommended that I was to ring around some of the marine insurers to get a seperate quote so I thought I would ask all you knowledgable guys and girls if anyone knows of a good company or if theres anyone to stay away from and what sort of premiums are people paying in the UK. I just cant wait to get it in the water.

Hello, nice one on your purshase it is a really well designed kayak and I have spent many a happy hour in one.

Firstly join the BCU, this gives you your third party liability insurance (uk only i think) and river access licence not to mention a quarterly magazine and discount at shops.

With regards to your kayak insuranace ask the BCU where to get insurance, am trying to find the details of mine. It covers my kayaks at home, on the car, abroad and even if i loose one bailing out on a river upto and including grade 4 not cheap but compered to replacing a kayak pretty decent. My house hold insurance likewise does not cover sporting goods and to add it was silly money.

If I can find my insurer will let you know but they are the one bcu recommend.

Urge Offline Platinum Member Posts: 760 Thank you received: 0	check out NW Brown Insurance for kti insurance. They offer third party, third party fire theft, New for old (fully comp) and competition as well as extra cover for roof rack theft and damage when in transport.
