Kayaking Clubs in London? 17 years 3 weeks ago #21142

Hi all

Can anyone give me a lead on some kayaking clubs in London? I'm looking for something with a whitewater focus preferably.

I'm also interested in the second hand boat market - any leads on this? (mailing lists, forums websites etc?).

Thanks
Dave

Hi Dave

I'm a member of a couple of London clubs and would say the best I've seen is towerhamletscanoeclub.co.uk/. There is a bigger interest in sea kayaking but it's quite a large active community with some who are only interested in WW.

But if you are coming over from SA be prepared to demonstrate your skills, you might even have to get some BCU qualifications before you are allowed out.

by train phone them first and they may pick you up at the station if they are quiet but to walk is only 15 mins (by kayak along the river:silly:))

Possibly a bit late but try Westminster Boating Base here

There are a few WW paddlers at the base but it's mostly beginners and play boaters.
