HI there,
I dont actually sea kayak, I do paddleboarding, if anyone knows this. It is the kind where you paddle prone or kneeling with your hands only,
not the one standing up with a paddle. I paddle on a 16 footer wooden clc wooden kit board I made.
I was wondering if anyone can help with knowledge of shipping kayaks.
I am considering going to Spain initially without watercraft, to live for a month or so, I may decide to stay there longer.
For me 6 weeks is 'ok' not to paddleboard as I can surf and swim. But if I decide to stay longer, I want to ship it to where I am in Spain (probably the north coast, ie San Sebastian). I was going to take my van there but now decided not to do this as I can buy a cheap car there if I want to stay longer.
So I was wondering if anyone knows a good and relatively reliable cheap company/way to get my 16 foot board down there including any insurance against damage. It weighs only 14 kg.
I can also get my relatives to pack it properly here so I dont have to come back here to pack it. Speed of delivery is not a factor, only that it gets there in one piece.
I am aiming to ship it from Scotland near Inerness where I live if possible.
So if anyone can offer any tips I would be really greatful.
Many thanks for any help,
James.
