Hello all,

I'd like to get into sea kayaking, my eventual aim is to kayak the norwegian fjords, and i'd like some opinions on where i should begin!?!

I've had a few plays with kayaks, hired for the day etc. Coastal and river. I also have a fair understanding of the sea, as i used to surf. I haven't tried a full roll, but have turned the kayak over and got out (no idea what the correct terminology is lol!).

Thanks for any pointers you can give

Scott

Hi Scott,

Notice this post is a month or so old. As a newbie myself, I can't give you any pointers but if you are still here, what you did when getting out of your boat is called a \"wet exit\". And if sea kayaking is your thing you might find more info (and I hope I don't get banned from this forum for suggesting this) by taking a look at the forum on www.ukseakayakguidebook.co.uk where there is a more specialised interest. But I hope you enjoy both forums.

Cheers.
