Boulters is dead easy with a good view, cross to boulters island at the lock and walk to the west, or is it north, anyway one direction you will see kayakers ;-)

I have no idea how you get to watch at hurley, presumably walk over the bridge to the island and as the lock keeper if you can walk along the gantry. their might be access from the other side.

Lock keepers are very good at both places so if in doubt ask.

Mayb c u there, I will be the one upside down ;-)

Cheers mate. Ill think ill have a word with the lock keeper. So boulters is the best weir to start playboating for a first time. is it harded to roll at boulters than rolling in flat water.

it could be worth trying the nene out first as you go round in a circle and there are several play features or try either of the weirs in a small level with some more competant paddlers so you can help each other if needed

If you want to start playbouting, i'd go to hurley... just make sure that it is on either 1 or 2 gates for the first couple times you go, and go with a mate who can help you out if needs be... as for the rolling, if in doubt at hurley you can just wait for the water to settle before you go to roll
