S6X review
This is a very temperamental boat. If you are a beginner or even an intermediate, I would stay clear of this boat due to its edgy "I wanna go vertical" physical traits. If you are an advancing solid playboater, this boat is a terrific choice. No move goes undone in an S6X. Loops, goodness, there is some serious pop in the bow due to the redesigned S6X volume distribution. Front loops are so easy in this boat. Back loops..not as easy but possible. This boat is also unusually easy to roll due to the soft rails. It's almost like having another mini-hull on the side of the boat.
Air/Blunts/backstabs- Feels good, thumb up.
Pan Ams- Excellent.
Loops - I dont know if there's another boat that pops like this one.
Helix- Performed well but the weight is an issue. This boat is a small bit overweight. You can feel it a bit sluggish as you snap the boat overhead and try to rotate.
Cartwheels.....too easy in this boat
It performs most other tricks predictably.
Scoops - These are overkill. I dont understand why anyone would need scoops since the boat is already so easy to get vertical. Bowstalls....I did notice the center of buoyancy in this boat is a bit more forward than the S6 but not a big deal.
Fins - I took this boat out to OBX and it does well. Surfed the pier at Avon and it carves nicely. Only issue is the stern which likes to dig. Keep a forward lean in backsurf to keep from backending.
I havent tried the add-on hulls and probably dont want to. This boat rocks as is.
I give it an 88%, B+, Boat feels a bit slower than the S6, and the weight is an issue.
