I've been paddling the Riot Liberty for about 2 years now and couldn't be happier. It's stiffness is awesome - no flex whatsoever, so my paddle strokes go where they're supposed to - into my speed. It's low chines and sleek design make it a fast choice even in windy conditions. I've always paddled boats with rudders before and can't believe how much I LOVE a skeg. It's simpler, maintenance free, doesn't catch wind, faster, and lets me leverage my feet for stronger paddling. At just under 16 feet, it isn't as long as I'd like, but it becomes the fastest boat in class at most races - where it keeps me out of the pro class. Also, this makes it a little more maneuverable for river racing and fun in the surf. Conclusion
Fastest (under 17 ft touring boat) I know of. Comfortable, stable enough for a novice, and very stiff. Wishes: wish Riot made a Kevlar version of this boat...Review
