The wide thumb tail works well in small surf also as it provides solid drive. As you exit your bottom turn, the board actually seems to squirt out instead of losing speed, making it really easily connect your turns. Pair the El Ocho with just about any surf, works best in 4+ and we have surfed it in overhead conditions with big smiles many times. Compared to the Hipster, the Ocho’s narrower outline is easier to get on rail at high speeds and larger surf. Very stable board, have had intermediate level 215lbs guys surf the rails off this shape. This is the board you will find Mr Jeramie Vaine on most days.

At 9.2 x 31 the Chub is the longest of our new line of accessible performance shapes. With a blown up short board inspired outline, this shape blasts through mush sections with a stomp on the wide squash tail while the pulled nose provides less swing weight for maneuvers.
The rocker was kept low for this shape to maximize drive and speed. A great board for Florida style peaky waves but it can handle whatever you throw at it. We surfed this on Big Wednesday in SoCal and had the fins whistling on some 10-12ft waves. More suited towards larger riders that want a performance feel but also great for anyone who is moving down from the traditionally long surf SUPs of years past while still looking for stability.
