Well about that ottawa thing. I am gonna make it up at the end of the summer. You seem like a pretty solid boater. Do you know the rivers well enough up there? Are you much into playboating? I go up to saskatchewan for most of the summer, but i'll be back late summer.

I would be surprised if a whitewater park could ever be as good as the real thing. I like the idea of checking out the ottawa

The guys for Liquid Logic test there, lets try a river that few to none have paddled! I would however like to revise my selections!

EJ has skills in the Creeking area, even his kid Dane can rip!! But still I have not seen any footage of first descents! That is why Tao is still #1. Oh ya, he hasn't been on the rodeo scene lately, but he's taken to Rodeo behind Wake board boats (as seen in Twitch V) now that inovative, most of use have been towed behind a boat, but to use two boats and surf the wake is New!

if we are going for best videod boater i would say its Tao for juggleing (company,kayaking,faimly) its Ej for girl nikki Kelly or Fiona for instructional ken whiteing

I think we keep breaking breaking this topic into multipal sub topics! And with that I would agree that EJ does the Best of Juggling (family/ business/ playboating) However, I'm answering of the pure basics of Best Boater! Everyting combined (creek, playboater, river runner, and video) Tao does it all well and he runs the lines that make most of us look twice at what he's done!! EJ is great, and we're lucky to have him in the sport. But for me right now Tao is taking it to a new level with progression. Running 98 foot waterfalls, and then cartwheeling behind motarboats.

I think Robin Bell also is a great kayaker. He's very good at slalom, good at freestyle and probably very good in the other disciplines too.

5 times world champion slalom and with his technique and 5 steps ahead of the rest of the world in those days!

Richard Fox is a Technical genius! However, I think they're talking about an all round boater. Richard (I have not seen) in a playboat,or creekboat. Who else would you pick as an all round booater???

Steve Fisher may not be the best at every aspect of kayaking, but he is certainly a force to be reckoned with in all aspects. You want to see him huck some waterfalls check out aerated, you wanna see him make kayak history check out outside's tsang po coverage, big rivers one world, and see the silver and blue on his helmet? thats because he wins all of those red bull adventure races. Steve seems to be the best all around boater. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention, he is by far the craziest big wave boater I've ever seen

i would have to say tyler curtis! he is form beachburg ontario and he is an amazing freestyle kayaker and not only that he runs big creeks and huge waterfalls and slides. i am good friend of tyler but i am only 15 and he is also helping me out to learn tecniques and moves.
he was also 4 time canadian national freestyler champ

Long time reader but the absence of a certain name in this thread has resulted in me becoming a first time poster!!!

I'd like to throw the name of Gerry Moffatt into the ring.

He is, IMO, a legend in Expedition Kayaking being the only person to kayak all 14 major drainages of the Nepalese Himalayas and if you think about what that entails, it's an achievement second to none. He's also got a range of first descents all over the place, including Bhutan (Where he was a government advisor for a time and helped set up local owned and run Raft schools - something he's also done in Nepal to his eternal credit)

OK so in his own words "The last rodeo I entered was before Cartwheels were invented" but freestyle is only one discipline and to be honest, there's not a whole lot of skill (but a huge amount of "leithroidi") in waterfall jumping.

I'll never forget seeing him in a video of the first descent of the Indus paddling a little Stuntbat into 15 and 20 foot Holes and re-appearing, some time later with a smile on his face - Legend
