it all depends on wot ur lookin for but i reckon the only boats worth havin are white water boats cos recreation and touring should blaitantly be done in open canoes

oh dear Jackb, you've obviously never enjoyed a good game of canoepolo or surfed the ocean in a surfkayak.
 Anyway, this thread is about the best boatER, not the best boat.  As there are so many different disciplines in paddling it's impossible for me to tell who's the best paddler. If I had to vote for one: Erwin Roos, top notch canoepolo player from Holland, player for DKV and current World Champion. |

yeah you are right, ej seems to be a great guy in private life, but in my opinion he is also the greatest kayaker, but I think Steve Fisher and Pat Camblin are also very great kayakers, but as already written, it always dpends on what you are lookin for, you cannot syay, he or he is the greatest kayaker, every one has got his special preferences.
ahh well, not to forget Jutta Kaiser, freestyle worldchampion 2005 who comes from Germany (me too) and she is really a great personality, when you talk to her, she is still so down to earth, she is great. Come to Austria this summer and you will be able to paddle with her, she is lovely |

 Yes as overall paddler Eric Jackson def has to be the winner. For creeking I'd go with Tao Berman, or Ben Selznick, or Nick Turner... Crazy guys... And Steve Fisher ( cause he's also nuts and from SA )   |

I'd pick Tao Berman, then Ken Whitting, then Corran! These are guys that can do it all, I've seen some great video of Ken creeking with Allan Flaridy down in Costa Rica, and of couse over in NZ. But right now Tao, has pushed creeking to new levels, with some insane lines and big Drops!! There are alot of up and comers, but in my Opinion Tao is the Best!  Cheers |

 I'm Sorry, but they asked who the best boater was! EJ is Awsome at play boating and big water runs. However I have not seen to many vids of him sliding down rock (creek boating). Tao does both, and yes he has won a couple rodeo titles. I can understand why everyone loves EJ and what he's done. I have nothing but respect for him. However if anyone can show me EJ running the sh#t than I may change my vote! Peace  |
